Ed Finkas is a native of Northern California where he teaches elementary school. Through teaching abroad and his love of travel, Ed has explored much of the world. His photographs do more than just share his experiences. They give a fresh perspective on familiar places and seemingly unimportant objects.
"I find beauty in taking a closer look at nature, seeing perfection in simple things, such as reflections in a river or the colors of a hidden rock," states Ed. "With photography, you can instantly capture a picture of that moment which may never be repeated exactly again.
"I enjoy discovering the abstract in nature and in found objects. I now have the fortune of viewing the world each day with a photographer's eye, adding enjoyment and wonderment to my daily life."
Ed is the former president of the Fairfield, CA, Visual Arts Association and was a member of the City of Fairfield's Cultural Arts Advisory Committee. His works have shown in various exhibits and galleries.
Coinciding with Ed's art opening at the Glashoff Gallery in March, 2006,
